Week 77: Tired Ninja

‘Meh’ week.

This week I wasn’t feeling great and progress was kinda slow! Still, I worked on ‘Ninja Attack!’ and on my #3CJam game!

I also did a Pico-8 Doodle but it’s not released yet! :X It’ll come out this next week with a ‘What Magic Is That?’ for Patreon supporters!

I don’t have much to show for the Ninja game just yet but I did do this title animation! Like (almost) every asset in the game, it’s in black and white and will take on the style of the game once it’s in there.

Doing this piece was pretty fun, I enjoyed doing the typography!

My 3CJam game still has no title but it’s coming along pretty nice! Map generation, destroyable walls and collisions are in!

I just got started on adding enemies but I’m not sure exactly what enemies I should do. The jam wants me to do something spooky so you’d thing skeletons, bats, etc. But the game is in a top-down view, have you tried doing sprites of skeletons and bats seen from above?? So instead I’ll be going for derelict space machinery and space ghosts I think. We’ll see how it goes.

I mentioned it last week already but there will be a mini-series of articles about the effects used in this game, after the game is done.

And that’s it for this week! The need for a break has been creeping up and I’m not feeling so great overall. And yet this next week will be a lot more intense as I have been given new deadlines. I think it’ll go well, I just need to focus a lot more on the work I’m doing. Besides, we’re coming to the very end of development for ‘Ninja Attack!’. Afterwards, I may take a whole week to relax. Maybe I’ll just write a few articles. And sleep a lot. Sleep sounds good!

This week will be pretty busy! I’ll be finishing things in ‘Ninja Attack!’ and maybe I’ll work a little on my 3CJam game and I’ll release the Pico-8 Doodle!
