All over the place again.
This week I did some work for The Frosty Pop Corps again, I advanced my LowRezJam entry a little, and I made this Pico-8 Doodle!
This Pico-8 Doodle was the first commissioned doodle! Ryan Malm is the kind supporter responsible for it!
I have to say I spent a little more time on it than I thought I would. But also I’m really happy with the result so let’s say it’s fine!

The Frosty Pop Corps asked me to take a look at their upcoming puzzle game Sprnkls and make it more satisfying, so I did that!
Sprnkls is a match-three game with an actually interesting twist, where you can swap a lot of tiles in one ‘move’ and do big combos and stuff. I like it!
Anyway, mainly I did that bursting animation you can see on the gif and various UI animation/tweaking!
Ok, you may remember that last week I was showing a ping-pong game for LowRezJam. This week I’m showing a 3D car. ‘What’s happening there?’, you ask.
Well I really wanted to make a ping-pong game. But when I got to making the paddles, I got stuck. I tried a lot of different ways to animate them but I just couldn’t get it to look right. So in the end I chose to change up the gameplay and maybe make some sort of 2D Rocket League Ping-Pong.
Obviously it’s not there yet and honestly I’m really not sure I’m going to finish this at all. Next week is the last week of the jam and I’m gonna be quite busy as I actually start a new game with The Frosty Pop Corps. (although, I should have a lot more time than I had while making Invaders From Space) Besides, I’m not sure I’m that interested in making this game? I don’t know, I think I need to work on something that feels more exciting to me, like Flying Pop-Pop for example. :X
Still happy to have made that small 3D car though, it was fun!
I also wrote a Patreon-exclusive post about writing and the difficulties I’m having with it! I actually have a few article ideas, aside from the articles that should already be done but recently writing has become particularly difficult for me. I’m even more strict towards myself about content quality and I end up being pretty unhappy with what I do make. Surely, getting back to writing things regularly would help me but, that’s hard to do! Still, I’m trying and I thank you for your patience! :S
Next week I’m mostly working on the new Frosty Pop Corps game, I hope I’ll have something to show you from that! Maybe there’ll be some progress on the LowRezJam game, maybe not! Maybe there’ll be a write-up or two! Maybe there’ll be a Pico-8 Doodle!
Before ending this post I just want to address the white nationalist march that happened last week in the USA. I’m still shocked by it to be honest. Last year I would never have believed I’d see Americans promoting nazi symbols and ideology in 2017. I don’t live in America but I can tell you there’s a lot of people still holding fascist or near-fascist ideologies here in Europe too and I think just that is awful. Anyway, today I read a really good article about ‘tolerance’ to these people’s speech and it was really good and I’m sharing it with you. There it is, please read it if you care.
